What's my car worth?

A free, quick number for your sports or exotic car: enter the VIN or pick the year, then the mileage. We price it against what US dealers are asking for the same car today and what the same car has actually sold for, and show you the sales behind it.

How the estimate works

Finding your car. We match the VIN's maker and model code and its model-year letter against the 141 models and tens of thousands of cars we track. If we haven't seen that pattern, your browser asks the free NHTSA VIN decoder for the make, model, year and trim, and we line that up with our models. You can always pick the model yourself.
The number. Each model page fits asking prices to model year and mileage across the qualified used cars dealers have listed. We run your year and miles through that fit to get a dealer-ask level, then step down to a likely sale price using that model's typical dealer haircut or, where there are enough auction results, its own gap between asks and sold prices. The range is roughly the middle half of how real cars scatter around that fit.
What it can't see. Options (PCCB, a Weissach pack, a manual), colour, accident history, ownership and condition. Those are why the comparable sales are listed: look for the ones that match your car. Full detail on the methodology page. Also see the monthly market reports.
